Tell me more about the Google Ad Grant for charities
If you are a qualifying charity, then you can get up to around £7,500 per month which you can spend on Google Advertising. All you need to do is qualify for the programme and then stay on it long term, and then you will get a complete free advertising spend. And, you have a good chance of getting it; the Google AD grants programme supports 35,000 charities worldwide! Breaking it down to England and Wales, where there are approximately 170,000 registered charities, it’s fair to say that the UK has a good chance of getting support.
How do I apply for the grant?
First of all, you need to check that your charity is eligible to apply. Then, there are a few steps that you need to go through to then put through the application.
Before you do anything, make sure that you don’t rush into it before your application and register for Google ADs, because this will be created once your application is approved. Now, let’s have a look at the first step…
As your number one step, set up a Google account if you don’t already have one. This needs to be the person who is applying that needs to set up the account. And, the sign up is completely free; if you don’t have an account, then sign up for one. You can sign up here.
Once you’ve signed up, you need to enrol for Google non-profits. And, this is also free of charge! Go through the process for this which will then take you to the next stage. You can enrol to Google for non-profits here.
The final step: submit your Google Ad Grants application. You can do this by going onto your Google for non-profits account. Once you’ve done this, you need to wait to hear back and if you have been approved, the Google Ads account will be created.
What happens next?
It will take up to 5 working days for you to get approved, so you will hear back from your application in due course. If you do get accepted, then the rest goes from there! You can start using your monthly payment for text adverts. Very exciting! If you’re not familiar with digital marketing, and you do need any guidance, then we are happy to help and give you advice. Good luck!
