FREE Digital Resources for the Charity Sector: Funding Resources

Are you a charity that has an idea for a project which you want to put into action? We know how you could make it happen. We also know how to help you out with any other ways you need funding. Continue reading to explore IT and tech funding resources that could be useful to you and the charity sector for digital growth.

Before we get into it, we’ve already done a blog on free IT resources, so that might also come in use for you. But, now you can have a look at how you can grow the charity by seeking funding to develop IT and tech foundations of the charity. Let’s have a look at what might be the best for you…

Funding Resources

Keep an eye out for Bethnall Green Ventures because they have a funding accelerator that gives out monetary support twice a year. They use tech to drive environmental change and use business as a force for good.

Check out Clothworkers Foundation because their Opens Grant Programme has now REOPENED! They fund IT, which includes digital and audiovisual equipment, which is great if you have a project in mind that you want to put into action. They also fund for a lot of other options, listed below:

  • They provide for purchasing, constructing, renovating, or refurbing buildings. If you’re looking for a new space, then this could be something that you consider.
  • Equipment that you might need for the office or roles in general. This could be useful if you’re looking to kit out a new space, or if you’re looking to grow your current one.
  • They can fund part of of the cost for vehicles. Although it’s not the full cost, or vehicle leasing, it does include minibus, car, caravan, people-carrier, or 4X4.

Take a look at the website for more information and how to apply!

Tech for good

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: IT support is so important. So, you’ll be glad to know that the Eddie and Vanessa George Memorial Fund is providing grants for IT training for people in Cornwall. Check out their website for more information on how you can apply.

Have a look at Comic Relief to help you in your digital journey. There are many different funding options on the website so you can explore them to find anything relevant to you and your charity.

There’s so much to find on the DCMS website. Take a look and read to see if you find anything in particular interesting. They have occasional tech for good grants and some good support for charities. It’s definitely worth keeping your eye out for grants if you need them!

If you’re specifically looking for grants for the use of information technology, then you want to have a look at Fat Beehive Foundation. They’re providing grants for this specifically, so it’s worth having a look and applying if you find it useful.

More Funding

Follow the National Lottery Digital Fund on social media to get updates, because although they are not currently offering funding, they will in the future. It’s currently closed but make sure that you keep an eye out for when funding next goes live. The National Lottery Digital Fund can provide funding for digital tools to help communities to thrive.

If you can make a difference to the lives of the elderly – specifically those over the age of 65 – then have a look at W G Edwards Charitable Foundation. They are a grant-making charity to provide care for older people in the UK.

Zing has unrestricted funding for investment, and they work specifically with organisations that support the potential of young people. It may be of interest to your charity if your work involves anything with early stage youth impact, as Zing will provide connections and access to technology expertise.
